Future Technology Our with technology

16 possible future technologies that could revolutionize our lives in the future

Future Technology Our with technology

Future Technology Our technology has been increasingly intense and fluid daily. There are still people who are not – or do not feel – dependent on smartphones,

for example, but they are in the minority. Even more so with the advent of devices from the “Internet of Things”, technology will be increasingly present in people's daily lives, modifying and imposing behaviors, tastes, etc. Tech insider asked Ian Pearson, a futurist who has a record 85% approval on his predictions, what new technologies can we expect in 2050 and how they will change the way we live. He made seventeen predictions:

1– Travel with Hyperloop will be possible

We saw that the Hyperloop One, the supersonic train of Elon Musk, is already being produced and tested in the United States. Pearson says that five or six years from now we could see this kind of system working to transport people between cities. It seems like fiction movies are starting to happen.

2– The advancement of Artificial Intelligence

Machines like those represented in the movie “Ex-Maquina” – with their conscience – for example, could be a reality in 2025. The futurist explained that it is quite feasible that computers gain this characteristic if not in 2025 even earlier, in 2020.
“ Google DeepMind isn't there yet, but I'm sure along the way, by 2020, their computers will become superhuman and eventually become aware,” he said. "That would be the beginning of the end, literally."
Fear.

3 – Spaceships to Mars

As people prepare for a one-way trip to Mars, Ian Pearson points out that by 2030 trips to the red planet will be possible. That's also a good sign for Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who wants to send people there in 2024.
“First we're going to see some people going to Mars, then robots are going to make some materials [on the planet],” Pearson said.

4– Prosthetics will give humans new abilities

Prosthetics production will be so good and advanced in ten years that they can give people “new skills”. This year, James Young, a young science biologist in London, aged just 25, added a drone to his prosthetic arm.
So, a decade from now, Pearson claims that prosthetics will be so advanced that people will be quite comfortable putting technology into their bodies. He gave an example that people can choose to have a cybernetic implant that makes their legs stronger.

5– Clothes with superhuman powers

Also in a 10-year prospection, the futurist says he can see that the clothes could give people new characteristics, suggesting that there will be leggings-type pants that will make running or walking easier. Another suggestion from this visionary is that a costume similar to the spider-man, with gel polymers that increase strength, be created around this time.

6 – Virtual Reality will replace textbooks

“You can take students into an environment in the past and show them what's going on, like watching a battle,” Ian said. He explains that it will be easier to explain a subject if the student is watching it happen than just reading from the textbook.
Google already has an application called " Google's Expedition " that allows students to visit places like the Great Barrier Reef, with the use of virtual reality. The app has been available in beta version since September last year.

7- Smartphones will be obsolete

Yes, this can happen. According to Ian, around 2025 smartphones will be obsolete and this situation will be influenced by the use of augmented reality. “If it's 2025 and you have a smartphone, people are going to laugh at you,” Pearson said. According to him, by that time it will be possible to implement augmented reality in bracelets or other jewelry, making the need to carry a smartphone non-existent. The company Magic Leap is already working to bring augmented reality to a more mainstream environment.

8 – In ten years autonomous cars will be everywhere

“If they come in the shape of a car, that will be discussed,” Pearson said. He described something like a ride-sharing system where people can ask for a very cheap metal box to take them anywhere. He says that this type of transport would be more effective, at a better cost than an autonomous car.
Was it the Uber of the future?

9– Houses built with 3D printers

If he's right it's a very good idea. Some architects around the world have already started projects along the same lines. In China, a company called Winsun claimed to have built 10 homes using 3D technology in just one day – each costing just $5,000.
There is also the example of a professor at the University of South Carolina (USC) who is working on a giant 3D printer that can, in addition to building the house, add the plumbing and electrical parts.
Ian Pearson claims that this skill will become more and more common as cities get more and more crowded.

10 – Robots at home service

By 2030 robots will be able to be part of the daily life of the residence. “Between artificial intelligence and robotics, we will have many tech assistants,” he said. He also points out that these robots will work as a companion, as many people will live alone at that time.

11 – It will be allowed to live in the Matrix

Advances in nanotechnology will enable our brains to be plugged into computers, allowing us to live in simulated worlds.
“You can certainly build something like the Matrix if you want to... By 2046, 2050 it will be possible to link people's brains in such a strong way that they'll think they're living in a virtual world,” he said.
He compared it to Elon Musk's project to create a neural cord, a system that adds a “layer of intelligence” to brains.

12 – In 2045, people could be cyborgs

What a prospect for the future! If joining the “Matrix” is already possible in 2045, then becoming part human and the part machine will be too. Ian Pearson believes in the neural cord suggested by Musk.
The only impasse is that, according to him, having this type of technology will not be widely allowed by governments. Imagine super soldiers with amazing advanced minds readily available? It would be a terrible problem.

13 – Control the home environment in 2040 using artificial intelligence

We already see, with Amazon Echo, for example, a snippet of what will be possible in the future. But in the future – or around 2040 – artificial intelligence could be built directly into buildings and residents could talk to them, asking them to adjust the temperature or turn off the lights, for example.
artificial intelligence will be a great service inside homes, Pearson said.
It's like in the future everyone could have a home just like Tony Stark's.

14– The buildings will function as cities in 25 years

The tall buildings of the future could contain just about everything found in a city, from workplaces to gyms, study spaces, residential areas, etc. All this to accommodate the high influx of people who will move to cities in the coming decades.

15– Massive use of renewable energies

If we last until then, by 2050 Pearson says it will no longer be necessary to use fossil fuels to carry things that work in contact with the ground, like houses and cars. This type of fuel will only be needed on airplanes.
Improvements in underwater cables will allow some countries to use solar energy from elsewhere, such as the Sahara desert, for example, something that could even supply the entire country. The possibility of pulling solar energy from areas where the sun is more incident will increase over time our reliance on solar energy.
I'm optimistic that by 2030 it will be possible to see large solar farms being deployed in the Sahara,” Pearson said.

16 – Trips into space in 2050

Before the joy in general, this type of trip will be something doable yes, but only for the very rich. He said that space tourism will be leveraged, and stressed that projects like Space X and Blue Origin are demonstrative of that.

“If you can afford $100 million you can spend a week in orbit (...) but only for very rich people of 2050.” He says it won't be a cheap thing anytime soon.
